THE FINE PRINT

Privacy,
without mystery.

Flashback Arcade is built for playing, not profiling. This page explains what information may be handled when you use the site.

Effective August 12, 2026
01

The short version

Flashback Arcade does not require an account and does not currently use advertising cookies or behavioral analytics. We do not sell personal information. A small favorites list is saved only in your browser so your chosen games remain marked on that device.

02

Information handled automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider may process standard technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, and security or diagnostic logs. We use this operational data to keep the service available, investigate errors, and prevent abuse.

03

Favorites stay on your device

When you mark a game as a favorite, its identifier is stored in your browser's local storage under flashback-favorites. It is not sent to a Flashback Arcade account because the site has no user accounts. You can remove individual favorites on the site or clear the site's stored data through your browser settings.

04

Playing games involves third parties

When you start a game, your browser may request the Ruffle emulator from unpkg and the selected game file from GitHub's content delivery service. Those providers may receive standard request information such as your IP address and browser details under their own privacy policies. Flashback Arcade disables script access for loaded games, but archived games may still behave differently across browsers.

05

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive the address you use and anything you include in the message. We use that information to respond, handle rights or removal requests, and maintain the archive. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information. We retain correspondence only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes or legal obligations.

06

Children's privacy

Flashback Arcade is a general-audience nostalgia and games site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

07

Your choices

You can use the main library without creating an account, decline to mark favorites, clear local storage, or avoid launching games that load third-party resources. Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights concerning access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal information handled about you.

08

Updates and questions

We may update this policy when the site or applicable requirements change. The effective date above will show the latest revision. For privacy questions, rights requests, or concerns about a game in the archive, visit the contact page.
